acetone the best place to start...

Both "goof off" and "oops" are really good products that will probably remove your paint as well. 10w40 probably works like the other poster says but it has oil and other stuff you don't need and it stinks. If you want to cut to the chase, try acetone first. Acetone is the primary solvent for wax. With any luck your paint might not react to it and you will be all set.
