Hi Cindy,

DH is right. ANd if you buy yourself a GOOD book on How To Install Tile (which should include information on countertop tiling as well as wall and floor tiling), you'll read that you should NOT install tile on particleboard! You'll probably get the same 'disclaimer' when you buy the tile and read the Installation Instructions that come w/it.

I suggest you get a book AND you read a set of the Instructions BEFORE you do any demolition. This way, you'll know what's involved in this type of project BEFORE you start. (And you'll see why a Pro charges what they do when it comes to 'what you know'.)

My best to ya and hope this helps.

PS: If you don't do as I and DH suggest, then in 6 months, you'll be writing to 'us' asking why your tiling job is in 'ruins' ...
