Jim is right. I've seen (and heard) this in cases where the aluminum is of a dark color. However, it does happen with the lighter colors and even white but to a lesser extent. The darker the siding, the higher the degree of the noise.
Aluminum siding can be painted. (There are a lot of posts on this Forum about that.) It would need to be cleaned (for sure), primed, then painted. For more on this, peruse the Forum or go to Ask Dr. Paint, then go to the waaaaaaaay bottom of the WEB page and look on the lower right for a URL to Ask Dr. Paint. Search their forum BEFORE you post up on this because you may already find something there.
