Our home was built in 1922, Tom's great grand mother left him this home. We have moved in and we notice that down in the basement on the plumbing, pipes only, that there is ASBESTOS wrapped around them in very good shape. It's all in it's place, but how can we have this removed? Can we do it ourselfs? Do you know our home owners insurance will cover this type of work?? We had a freind of ours say that it's ok, if you don't knot it down or bother it!! NOBODY GOES IN THE BASEMENT,BUT TOM AND MYSELF, just to do the laundry. Can it casue CANCER IF YOU ARE JUST IN THE ROOM, WITHOUT ANY CONTACT? I know that you have to breath in the dust, which we have not!! I am very concerned over this!! We have kids in our home ages: from 13yrs - 2yrs. Can this be cover over with a special type of foam??? Please let me know either way on what direction we should take, FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR LIFES!!!!

Thank You
