A question for Henry in MI

I am experiencing the same things as Ralph (and probably several thousand others!). I was wondering if you could go into a little more detail on your recommendation to "cut the copes about 5 degrees". I also have a compound miter saw, and am using a hand coping saw. I am working with 6 1/2" crown (45 degrees). I am usually pretty handy, but I just can't seem to get this right. I was willing to succumb, & buy inside corner joints, but couldn't find any that would support a 4 1/2" net crown.

Anything you (or anyone else) could recommend would be greatly appreciated!
