I read this follow-up last night and again this morning, and I think I've beaten my brain WAY too much on figuring this out. I THINK (and let me reiterate that), I THINK he's saying that, in the end, you still have a garage. It happens to be a new garage but you will still have a garage after you renovate the old garage. With that, you've essentially 'agreed' (with my statement, am I close Doug?) ... that it would be beneficial to keep the garage since it MAY (and I make this point), MAY hurt your property resale value. With that, in still having a garage when it's all said-and-done, there is no ... agreeing to a point. You agree that keeping the garage is a good idea (for the lack of better words), period.
The confusion is due to Doug's loss for words. (Eloquence isn't his forte ...)
