Hi Dana,

There should be pros out there that are willing to do side jobs. When you talk to Electricians and Plumbers and so on, ask if they do side-jobs AND ask if they're licensed. Just tell them your concerns about Housing Codes and so on. A Cabinet Maker isn't licensed unless he/she is doing electrical and/or plumbing work (if that.) So don't be surprised if he says he's not licensed. He may just 'run wiring' and 'install dishwashers' if you know what I mean. (As opposed to wiring an entire house, electrical meter and all, or plumbing an entire house, septic and all.)

Heck, you might find licensed contractors willing to do the work outright for the right 'price'. My best to ya and hope this helps.

PS: I'm surprised you didn't ask how you'd find someone that does side work since you're asking about it ...
