In your words as a follow-up, maybe I'm mis-reading the original post. It sounds like a previous homeowner painted OVER the glue, and how there's a bleed problem. With that, 2 questions. 1) Would the 'job' get done w/o the use of a Paper Tiger ('D': Found in the Home Centers or any Wallpaper retailer.) And 2) If 'D' doesn't need a Paper Tiger, will you 'plan' work for getting the under-glue off?
I'm a BIG fan of the DIF solution and you're exactly right about sticking to the directions on its use (no pun intended.) If I didn't interpret the 'problem' as being UNDER a coat of paint, I would have offered, essentially, the same advice. (... Just throwing out a professional, rhetorical question or 2.)
