Hello, we just moved into a brand new home. We have been having problems with are water heater and heating unit.
When we first moved in it took 1 minute and 40 seconds for hot water to come out. If the gauge is on "A" (max temperature we are getting is 108.8; the max temperature we are getting on "very hot" is 118") we only get 10-15 gallons of hot water before it becomes cold. A few days ago, they replace the Water Heater. We are still having the same problems. We have a 50 gallon tub and it only fills up to 10-15 gallons before the water is cold again. The max temperature for 108(gauge A). Once it reaches 10-15 gallons the temperature levels off to 100 degrees within a few minutes. The Master Tub is 50 gallons but we only get 10-15 gallons of hot water.
We are also experiencing heat problems; 10 degree delta upstairs and downstairs. Our top floor is cold, yet our bottom floor is warm. They changed the thermostat, fixed the support and got rid of the kinks in the crawl space. The delta after they were under the crawl space has decreased the delta from 10 degrees to 5 to 7 degrees depending on which room you are in. Our main concern is our Master Bath and Master Closet. The Master Bath and Closet is vented by a rigid pipe from our garage. Yet the air blowing out of the vents is the weakest. For example, if it is 77 degrees downstairs, the Master Bath and Closet upstairs is 67.
Please make note that the water heater and heating unit is in the garage, yet the coldest room is right about it. Can you please identify what the root cause may be?
