A furnace that has a low fire and high fire capability has some advantages. When there is a demand for heat the furnace starts on high fire to warm the room rapidly, then drops to a lower firing rate. This lower rate makes a longer heating on-time with milder air temperatures. Occupants usually feel more comfortable.
