230V outlet

I have one 230 outlet in my woodworking shop for my tablesaw. I am getting a new 15" planer which requires 230V also. I paid an electician to run the 230V for the table saw and don't want that expense again. Can I make a junction box at the wall and run two 12 gauge sheathed electrical cable to more than one outlet? They will never both be used at the same time. Thanks, Larry.
