Dear Bob: The office I work in, was built in 1960 and was laid with what appears to be vinyl tiles. Over the years linoleum or congoleum, I honestly don't know what the difference is, was laid over it.
Just this past weekend the tiles were ripped up and will be replaced with ceramic tiles. There appears to black tar stains on the concrete floor and what appears to be a lot of chipping to get the tiles off.
There are very remnants of the tile left here and there, but the bulk of it was disgarded over the weekend.
Do you think these tiles that were removed could have contained asbestos?
The workers or their foreman isn't around for me to inquire for the office.
