I am pulling up carpet, room by room, and finding lovely oak flooring in my Post-War home. The floors are in decent condition, the color just right, and minimal marking. My refinishing efforts have been to use steel wool and fine sanding paper to clean and smooth the surface. Everything is looking good. It appears that whatever finish, if any, was applied in 1951 is now LONG gone. The wood is very dry (the house has a raised foundation). What would be the result of using wood oil on the flooring?
