1901 Chicago grey-stone, 2-flat gut re-hab Conversion

Posted by D. Todd Armbruster on December 27th, 1997 07:00 PM

I am in the process of beginning the gut re-hab of a 1901 Chicago grey stone brick 2 flat. The building currently has a 1st floor apt. w/ 2 bedrooms, 1 bath......& a 2nd floor apt. w/ 3 bedrooms, 1 bath. We will be converting the building into a 1 bedroom single family home. Additionaly, we are finishing off the basement with a large family room, full bath, & study.

All electric and plumbing will be replaced. Also, we will be removing the boiler heating system, replacing it with forced air heat, and central air.

The first floor will have a 2-story vaulted ceiling, requiring the removal of load bearing walls.

Would you have any interest in incorporating our project into one of your shows? I would be willing to supply you with our architech's blueprints, and contractor's statements.

I think it is going to be an incredible project, with lots of show-worthy possibilities.

Please respond via E-mail, or call me at my office in Chicago.....773-784-2225
Sincerely...Todd Armbruster
