This is a slightly different question from the ones usually seen here. I am getting my home renovated, it’s over 50 years old and require some major repair and renovation works. I’ll need some outside financial help to complete the project, one of my friends suggested me to get a mortgage for renovations. Is that possible, have anyone done their renovations by getting a mortgage? Or is refinancing a mortgage a better option ( http://www.northwoodmortgage.com/mortage-questions/mortgages-cover-home-repairs/ ), as said in the article?
