We offer a fabulous late 19th century sculpture of Nicholas 1, Czar Autocrat of the Russian Empire. The sculpturer was Friedrich August Theodor Dietrich. The silver casting was made by MOROZOV. Morozov was the chief rival to Carl Faberge and was also a possessor of the Imperial Warrant to supply items to the Imperial Court. This is symbolized by the Imperial Eagle on the hallmark of the bust. The item is marked in cyrillic "Morozov", with the Imperial warrant "88", with the crossed anchor and sceptre mark of St Petersburg, 1896". This bust is finely portrayed in a classical style with tremendous quality in the casting, i.e. the details of the uniform and facial characteristics. It is in excellent condition. It is some 13 inches high (32.5 cm) and is made of 88 zlotny silver. Across the shoulders the bust measures some 7 inches across (17.5 cm). Absolutely an incredible piece of highly important Russian silver by a noted maker. Click for Price@ GoAntiques.com
