There's good news for those concerned about their mortgage. HOPENOW, a nonprofit alliance, unveiled its redesigned Web site to allow homeowners to connect directly with their mortgage servicer. Homeowners fill out the new online assistance form and receive acknowledgement of the application in no more than seven business days. It is hoped that by connecting homeowners and mortgage providers more quickly, payment plans can be worked out that will prevent foreclosure.
The 10th annual Intelligent Use of Water summit recently convened in Melbourne, Australia with Australian and U.S. officials discussing the future of the Earth's water supply. Presented by Rain Bird, the summit is increasingly important in our era of climate change and population growth. One of the presenters applauded the fact that in in some areas of Australia, water use was down to 140 liters per person per day while pointing out in the U.S. water use per person is still around 600 liters.
