Scrubbability
The ability of a paint film to withstand scrubbing and cleaning with water, soap, and other household cleaning agents.

Scuff
To cause a scrape on a smooth surface.

Scuff sand
Light sanding, which scrapes the sheen off of a glossy surface, so that new paint will bond to the surface.

Sculptured carpet
Any carpet pattern form from high and low pile areas, such as high-low or cut-and-loop.

Sculptured tile
Tile with a decorative design of high and low areas molded into its face.

Scupper
An outlet in the wall of a building or a parapet wall for drainage of water from a flat roof.

Scutcheon
Metal plate used to protect wood around a keyhole.

Scuttle
Small opening in a ceiling to provide access to an attic or roof.

Sds rotary percussion bit
Carbide-tipped bits designed for drilling in concrete, masonry aggregates, brick, slate, etc. They are primarily used with sds rotary hammers.

Seal
Identifier used as a mark of genuineness and authenticity.
