Large steel bolts, also called anchor bolts, attached to a building and then anchored in concrete. This is done to prevent the structure from moving.
L cut
A piece of tile cut or shaped to the letter "L".
L screw
Metal thin rod, possibly of brass, which has a screw thread on one, with the other end bent at a right angle. When screwed into the wall, the short end of the L provides a support for hanging objects.
L tubing
An industry standard for copper tubing defined by the tube wall thickness and identified by a "blue" strip. Type "L" copper tube wall is approximately 50% greater thickness than Type "M".

Lacing
Interweaving of roof shingles at intersections.
Lack of fusion
Poorly done weld, which has areas of incomplete weld fusion, where the weld isn't fused to the base metal in all places, making the strength of the weld weaker.
